My wife has a membership with another direct sales company. She likes the products but wants to buy at discount. I pay the annual fee and she orders what she needs through the year.
That company caters to an active sales force. You don’t sell, you make no money. Sounds fair. But if you need a break and don’t sell for the month you’re on vacation (or on a mission trip), you lose your status.
The service agreement states:
Your product discount is based on maintaining (company name) Independent Consultant status in accordance with the Success Plan and … Independent Consultant Policies and Procedures. As a result, please note that your product discount may change from month-to-month depending upon your then-current status.
In this respect, Reliv outshines most other companies. They recognize a part-time representative has other responsibilities. When my career job went crazy busy and I started working 80 hour weeks, I didn’t get much else done for those 2 months. And although I didn’t do any business, my discount level did not change.
The exception is for Master Affiliates, which must requalify once a year to maintain the 40% discount. But these are the key business builders, and are expected to work the business harder, and are eligible for other forms of income.
There may be another company that lets you keep your high discount level in spite of doing nothing for months – years – so long as you pay the nominal annual fee, but I don’t know about them. Reliv truly supports its people.
